WhatNot

The first album, Whatnot, is inspired by the raw energy and community spirit of live Whatnot streams—those fast-moving moments where nostalgia, humour, pressure, and connection all collide in real time. It draws heavily from the rhythm of auctions themselves: the call-and-response of chat, the rush of countdowns, the shared jokes, and the emotional highs and lows of selling, winning, missing out, and celebrating together. Beneath the surface, the album reflects Olly’s personal journey—building something from the ground up, staying accountable, showing up consistently, and turning everyday chaos into culture. Musically and thematically, it blends throwbacks to 80s/90s pop culture with modern streaming life, capturing the feeling of standing in a room full of familiar characters, where community matters as much as the collectibles.
